Hampshire's New Gravel Sportive
Welcome to the AddVenture Gravel Ride Sportive, the new gravel ride cycle sportive experience in the south. Discover the old tracks and byways used by ancient Britons and Romans in northwest Hampshire, as you cycle along parts of the Test Way. Traverse the high grounds on and around the Chute Causeway, Britons only curved Roman Road.
Starting and Finishing at Thruxton Motor Racing circuit in northwest Hampshire, the route heads north through Collingbourne Woods and up to Chute Causeway, where it then follows a clockwise direction, with route splits, to both then arrive at the refreshment station at Hurstbourne Tarrant.
Enjoy the final few miles of the route through easier terrain south of Andover and traversing picturesque villages and countryside, through quiet gravel lanes back to the finish at Thruxton Circuit
Once back at the village, enjoy a complimentary drink and snack and have a browse through the stands at the event village.

Thruxton is readily accessible from both the M3 and M4
- 2 hours from London
- 2 hours from Birmingham
Once on the A303 follow the signs for Thruxton Circuit ONLY; ignore signs for Thruxton village. Upon leaving the A303 follow signs for Thruxton Circuit.
If coming from the west on the A303 leave at the A338 Salisbury/Marlborough Junction at Parkhouse, then at Parkhouse Roundabout follow event signs to Thruxton Race Circuit.
If coming from the east on the A303 leave at Thruxton Race Circuit signs, Grateley/Quarley/Thruxton Ind Estate, then follow event signs to Thruxton Race Circuit.
TRAINS AND PLANES TO THRUXTON CIRCUIT
There is a main line train station in Grateley Village (10 minutes away), which runs from Waterloo, which is just 3 miles from Thruxton Race Circuit. Plan your route using National Rail Enquiries
Southampton Airport is the closest mainstream airport (40 minutes away).
Parking
Parking will be next to the start/finish area inside the motor circuit and can be reached by following the Event Parking signs (under the bridge - care traffic light system) and into the main parking area beside the event village, where stewards will direct you.
Please follow the AddVentureGRS parking signs once you have entered the Thruxton Race Circuit grounds.

Registration
Registration will take place next to the start/finish area and will be indicated by signage. Registration opens at 8.30am.
Please sign in and collect your number, which should be secured on to handlebars with the zip ties provided

Entry Fee
100km Route - £25 entry online, £30 for entry on the day
65km Route - £20 entry online, £25 for entry on the day
33km Route - £16 entry online, £20 for entry on the day
Signage/Briefing
All routes will be fully signed and there will be a ride briefing before riders are started
Toilets/Changing Rooms
Permanent Toilets are available at the Parking area and at the Event HQ and will be indicated by signage. Changing Rooms and Showers are also available at the Event HQ
Finish
Thruxton Race Circuit. Follow event signs into the Circuit and along to the event village, to finish under the Banner and between the AddVenture Campers.
Charity Fund Raising
The chosen charity for the event is the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance. They are based at Thruxton Motor Circuit so keep a look out for their helicopter, which you may see taking off or landing. They will also have a stand at the event village so please visit them for more information on who they are and what they do.
Covid Precautions
Although Covid restrictions have been relaxed and wearing a face mask is no longer a legal requirement, we will have both hand sanitizer and face masks available at the Event HQ & Registration Area, Event Village and all Refreshment Stations.
Event Village
Enjoy browsing through the stands at the event village and take a close look at the AddVenture Campers – maybe even plan your next trip further afield.
There will be catering at the village – hot and cold drinks and breakfast available to purchase at the start.
A complimentary drink and snack will be available to all participants at the finish token for this will be issued at the finish line which can be collected with your Finishers Medal.
Refreshments Stations and Catering
Food and Drinks will be available at all refreshment stations – coffee/tea/cake/rolls, plus Energy Drinks/Water and snacks for when you are on the move.
Toilets are available at the Refreshment Stations.
Medical Support
Collingwood Medical Services will offer medical support for the event. There will be first aid available at the start and finish area. We also have a roaming vehicle service available for any on the road first aid requirements. Contact details will be listed on your event info card at registration.
Mechanical Support
Mechanical support will be available at the start/finish area. There will also be a roving mechanic on the route, who will also be carrying a supply of spare tyres and inner tubes, with toolbox etc. Contact details will be listed on your start card
Refreshments Stations and Catering
Food and Drinks will be available at all refreshment stations – coffee/tea/cake/rolls and a complimentary drink and snack will be available to all participants at the finish and a token for this will be issued at the finish line.
The AddVenture GRS event is ideal for both experienced Off Road riders and for riders new to Gravel Riding.
The longer 100km route offers a great challenge for the more experienced riders, while the 65km route is a great route for those riding their first gravel event – offering varied terrain while never being too far away from the Event HQ.
Plenty of time to complete the route and take in the picturesque scenery en route.
The route is suitable for all gravel and MTB Bikes. E-bike gravel and mountain bikes may also be used.
